The Day Bryan Adams Came To Call
Yes, I know what you’re thinking. Why oh why am I still awake? It’s just gone 12.30am and I’m currently on the floor of my eldest’s bedroom, wedged in-between a spare mattress and propped up on pillows.
The reason, dear Readers, is because I am currently hosting a 10th birthday sleepover. I see my brand new high heels peeking out behind suitcases, I’ve just delivered one of the THE best midnight feasts, and even managed to sneak off for a few hours and watch Django Unchained with a glass of wine. It’s a good film – go and watch it.
Aside from all this day to day normality which I had planned for this weekend, a small miracle happened on my blog just yesterday afternoon on my way home from work. Now, I usually have a smile on my face on my way home from work on a Friday, but when I saw this particular message sitting in my emails, my hand rushed to my forehead in disbelief, I gasped so loud that the people on the tram must have thought I’d won the lottery and I think, okay, I ADMIT that maybe a glaze of a tear touched my right eye. (Or was it my left?)
Since that moment, I have been sneaking off behind curtains, emailing in-between cooking beetroot (Twitter followers will understand this reference) and responding to hundreds of messages, retweets and goodwill about my blog. My blog hits increased phenomenally. I’ve had over 2,000 readers in just 24 hours.
I suppose those of you who aren’t following me on Twitter will want to know what the heck I am talking about. Well, at this moment in time, following my quirky blog post (Why a little piece of my heart will always belong to Bryan Adams) about THE Bryan Adams (rock singer/songwriter, musician, producer, actor and photographer) a link to my blog is currently featuring on the Bryan Adams homepage of his website. Go and look: www.bryanadams.com. Alternatively, I have provided a screen shot:
And, dear Reader, the reason for this small miracle, is because he read my blog. And he liked it so much, he retweeted it to over 340,000 followers. Who have then retweeted it to their followers and so on and so on. See below:
Rock royalty has graced these humble pages. But so have many of his wonderful fans. So thank you again Bryan, and thank you again lovely Bryan fans. I can't stop this thing we've started.
